Counting Calories? Consider Your Coffee

If you’re looking to lose a couple of pounds, don’t forget that what you add to your tea and coffee can add up at the end of the week.

Coffee and tea drinkers regularly use caloric add-ins to improve the flavour of their drinks, without fully realising or taking into consideration its caloric and nutritional implications.

Compared with those who drink their coffee black, those who add sweeteners, milk and other flavour syrups consume an average of 69 more calories a day, with the majority of these extra calories coming from sugar.

While the daily intake of extra calories may seem small, it can add up to extra pounds in the long term.
