Researchers funded by the British Heart Foundation are thought to have developed a new blood test which could help identify people with inherited heart conditions.
The blood test is thought to be a quicker and more reliable way of testing 174 genes for inherited heart conditions than previous methods.
Inherited heart conditions are thought to affect more than 500,000 people in the UK. The new test has the potential to save thousands of lives through screening and diagnosis.
